SIBLING
SUPPORT GROUP
For Siblings with a Brother or Sister
Actively Using or In Recovery
When a brother or sister is struggling with a substance use disorder, family dynamics can be complicated. LITT is here for you.

Our support groups for siblings provides a safe place to connect with other members and share stories, provide honest feedback and help one another through this journey.
What to Expect From Our Support Group
After speaking with a leader from our team, members meet twice monthly on Zoom. The intention behind these meetings is to support one another as we navigate this journey through stories, advice and honest feedback.

There is no fee to join any of our group. LITT highly respects the privacy and confidentiality of our group members. Your information will never be shared outside of the organization.
Meet Our Director of Sibling Support & Grief Groups
Olivia is stepping into the role of Director of the sibling groups, both for sibling grief groups for those who have lost a sibling and our sibling support group for anyone who has a brother or sister in active SUD or in recovery. She is aware of the way having a sibling with SUD affects family dynamics and that siblings have their own unique and complicated needs when it comes to navigating their lives in the midst of this illness.

Olivia Harrell lives in Baldwin, Maryland, with her husband, two young children, and dogs- a Bulldog named Lola, and a Lab named Daisy. She lost her brother, Griffin, to an accidental overdose from Fentanyl on September 25, 2023. Olivia loves to spend time with her family, make sourdough from scratch, and exercise. She is also incredibly thankful for the community of LITT and invites others with a similar loss to participate in LITT’s Sibling Support Groups.

Sibling Support Group Leader

Maria is grateful for the chance to lead the Sibling Support Group at LITT. Having a brother in recovery has been one of the most challenging and meaningful parts of her life, and she knows how isolating the sibling role can sometimes feel. She is also in recovery herself, and will be celebrating nine years Adderall- and Alcohol-free this December. Her own recovery, along with her family’s, is a big part of why she wants to help build a space where siblings can show up honestly, feel understood, and support one another.

Maria's parents lead the LITT parents’ support group, and watching them give back has inspired her more than they know. She lives in Baltimore City with her partner and their dog and cat. When she is not working as a software engineer, she loves coaching soccer for Baltimore City kids, learning about anything and everything, hanging outside with her dog, and staying connected to the people and communities that keep her grounded.
Join Our Sibling Support Group
LITT respects the privacy and confidentiality of its support group members. For this reason, we prefer to touch base with those considering attending prior to joining one of our groups.
